Sometimes (okay, a lot of times) I get overwhelmed by well, a lot. But when I remember that a little goes a long way, I can take a deep breath and keep moving forward.


  • Clear one surface
  • Give one compliment
  • Read one book to your kiddo
  • Send one email
  • Pick up 10 things
  • Go to bed 15 minutes earlier
  • Get up 15 minutes earlier
  • Exercise for 10 minutes
  • Say “no” to two pieces of cake

One compliment won’t change the world, but it may make someone’s day. Exercising for 10 minutes won’t turn you into a muscular machine overnight but it’ll make it easier to exercise tomorrow. A little goes a long way.

  1. Oh, I love this. So true. Just do one thing, right?!

  2. I read somewhere that a simple way to achieve little goals is to set just one goal per day instead of trying to do too much. So for instance, today can be, “Have better posture.” If that’s the only thing that you’re thinking of today, it’s a bit easier to remember to do it, than to have better posture, exercise, eat well, read more, etc. all mixed in for an indeterminate amount of time. Little things definitely add up.

  4. With all the things going on in our heads at any given moment, sometimes a little is all we have to give… but even the little things count.
